Eriel (like the mermaid) B. M. Fauser holds a BA in English with minors in Creative Work and Business from the University of Houston, and an MFA in Writing from the University of Texas at Austin’s New Writers Project. Her work has appeared in Edible Houston, Glass Mountain, Gulf Coast, Cold Creek Review, and Boned, as well as on audio platforms like Dipsea. When she’s not lost in fantasy worlds or pretending to be a contestant on a baking competition, she works as a proposals director for a health research company.
Eriel’s writing blends themes of food, family, and Southern culture with elements of fantasy and romance. Her novel, The Lockhardt Coven, draws deeply from her culinary roots, where food serves as a central element for both her characters and their magic. Raised by generations of chefs, Eriel has a deep appreciation for food and weaves that love into her storytelling.
